Graphic Designer

The Graphic Designer will use his or her experience, creative talent and knowledge of current graphic design software to produce visual materials and promotional items to support the marketing efforts of Kiawah Island Club and Kiawah Island Real Estate. This role manages vendors throughout the estimate, design, and implementation. This role includes remaining abreast of technological advances and being able to identify areas of their use within the organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role will involve managing more than one design brief at a time, allocating the relevant amount of time according to the value of the job. The role must manage priorities as outlined by the Director of Marketing and Creative Director and meet deadlines.

• Meets with campaign owner to understand the business objectives and requirements of each project. Develops a concept to suit their purpose. Manage timelines to meet deadlines.
• Thinks creatively to produce new ideas and concepts; using innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time. Open to feedback and quick to turnaround of revisions.
• Work on new Real Estate Listing collateral as needed (homesite, villa, cottage, home).
• Edit photos as necessary to present home in best light.
• Create ads for various publications (digital & print).
• Design/production of in-house branded collateral, signage, and operational items as needed.
• Design of sales/referral touch points, gifts, and promotional items and packaging.
• Fulfills photo requests for PR company, as needed.
• Various projects relating to company and/or developer projects.
• Works within a wide range of media, including photography, illustration, and computer-aided design.
• Proofreads to produce accurate and high-quality work.
• Liaise with print and production vendors on project estimates.
• Police and work within guidelines of Marketing Server organization.
• Stay current with any new developments or software in IT, particularly design programs such as Adobe Creative Suite.
• Evaluates and enforces brand identity across branded material.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

• Strong knowledge of principles of graphic and visual design.
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent.
• Two to three years of experience (agency preferred).
• Extremely strong Creative Suite skills.
• Attention to detail and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Macromedia, In Design, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat.
• Knowledge of Dreamweaver and Flash is a plus.
• Excellent grammatical, spelling, and proofreading skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and GSuite.
• Detail oriented, strong organization skills, and ability to manage multiple projects in time sensitive environment.
• Demonstrate initiative, work independently, meet deadlines and maintain collaborative professional relationships with a can-do attitude.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail.
• Strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds.
• Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
