What are the responsibilities and job description for the P/T Doula (Elgin, IL) position at Kids Above All?
Job Summary: Kids Above All is seeking a prenatal, post-partum, Part-Time birth doula who is bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred for the program located in Elgin, IL. This is a part-time position, with 22.5 hours per week.
Essential Functions:
- Recruit and enroll families into the Doula and PAT home visiting programs
- Provide clients with comfort measures and pain relief techniques during delivery for a positive and safe hospital birth.
- Offer postpartum clients support for emotional and physical needs.
- Equip families with resources and information regarding pregnancy, childbirth, child safety, and development through regular home visits.
- Assist the family in strengthening the parent-child relationship
- Organizes and maintains complete, accurate, up-to-date records for children and families.
- Assist families in locating programs to meeting basic needs which may include employment, housing, day care and other state and local program assistance.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bilingual Strongly Preferred (Spanish and English)
- DONA trained
- Experience as a trained DONA doula attending hospital births
OR
- Associates or Bachelors (Health Science or related degree)
- Bilingual Strongly Preferred (Spanish and English)
- Availability to train as a DONA certified doula
- Experience working with pregnant women and/or infants.
All candidates must be willing to attend hospital births at any time. This may include evenings, weekends, or holidays.
