Job description
The Admissions Specialist is responsible for prompt clinical review of all referrals for the residential and day treatment programs, determining, in accordance with KidsPeace procedure, client’s appropriateness for treatment, and for accessing clients into KidsPeace programs in a timely manner. The Admissions Specialist will also be responsible for case coordination as assigned, collaboration with inter and intra department systems and provision of information regarding assigned residency caseload. Provide professional management of assigned caseload. Assist as needed with case information access and distribution. Assist in coordination and completion of the admission process. Develop working relationships with legal guardians, providers and larger system agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Human Services or related field preferred
- Experience with case management, larger systems and/or direct casework preferred
- Must possess basic computer knowledge and skills
JOB DUTIES:
- Read and interpret clinical reports included in referral packets and make accurate assessment of client’s appropriateness for treatment.
- If warranted, participate in pre-placement clinical assessments in conjunction with the Inter-disciplinary Treatment Team or as part of a committee to determine client’s appropriateness for services.
- Interview, counsel, and meet with client, family, and referral source to answer questions, gather necessary information, and facilitate client’s smooth transition into treatment program.
- Perform necessary data entry and complete weekly and/or monthly reports in the absence of the Admissions Supervisor.
- Attend assigned conferences and regional meetings for the purpose of informing and exchanging information pertaining to KidsPeace treatment programming.
- Operationalize the model of care as evidenced by role modeling, liaison with larger systems, facilitating quality improvement and customer relationships.

Salary: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
