Lead Education Technician ----- CLASSROOM 9
KidsPeace National Centers of New England has an immediate opening for a Lead Education Technician to work at its Graham Lake School located in Ellsworth, ME. The Lead Education Technician III provides support, suggestions and guidance to the education staff in crisis prevention. This position also provides crisis intervention to clients, completes related reporting and record keeping.
Additional responsibilities include assisting clients and residential staff with morning programming. The Lead Ed Tech III also operates as a building “floater” across all residential units.
This position requires the ability to lead, communicate and multitask, while possessing an unwavering commitment to compliance and the ability to continuously assess and manage ongoing developments and concerns of client care. As well as, having the ability to initiate action, make sound judgments and motivate staff. Recognize and take appropriate action in response to unsafe situations; demonstrate knowledge and use of emergency response systems and tolls. In addition, this position would require the ability to fully perform all aspects of a restraint using the current approved KidsPeace methodology.
An Ed Tech III Certification is required in addition to two years of experience working with behaviorally challenged children (preferably in a residential setting). Experience working closely with family and clients as well as an understanding of autism spectrum disorders in preferred.
