RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES
Educational & Staff Relations
· Distribute all curriculum print material to teachers as needed/requested
· Assist teachers with age-appropriate required visual displays (i.e., family information boards, bulletin boards & displays; state forms; schedules; etc.)
· Oversee weekly Chapel (i.e., assign teacher; provide handouts etc.)
· Encourage high quality teacher-child interactions
· Clearly understand the curriculum provided & assist teachers with weekly lesson plans & crafts. Provide timely feedback & recommendations
· Develop & maintain creative ideas & crafts that are both educational & fun for students
· Develop & maintain inventory of supplies for classroom/teachers use
· Design & oversee the KT Summer Camp program
· Assist with child classroom transitions ensuring they are communicated to both the families & teacher in a timely manner
· Develop & actively maintain positive communication with families & staff
· Ensure the physical, emotional, & spiritual well being of each child in the classroom
· Recognize parent concerns, evaluate course of action & respond appropriately to the needs of families. Communicate family concerns to the Operations Director. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding children & families.
· Assist with ensuring proper child-staff ratios are maintained
· Assist with coaching/counseling staff members as necessary both professionally & respectfully
· Research curriculum offered & ensure KT is providing the best educational curriculum
· Oversee child classroom transitions ensuring they are communicated to both the families & teacher in a timely manner
· Maintain strict confidentiality regarding children, families & KT team members
· Cover teachers/classrooms for breaks or when short staffed
· All other duties as assigned
Health & Safety Requirements
· Assist with managing the center follows state & local regulations & with KT policies & procedures
· Understand & assist with implementing emergency procedures in case of emergency situations
· Assist with ensuring all emergency preparedness drills are completed in accordance with state regulations & requirement
· Assist with training all staff in all center safety policies & procedures. Assist with ensuring all staff members understand their roles in protecting & educating the children enrolled.
· Assist with informing parents if their child has been exposed to a communicable disease
· Understand & implement policies related to the exclusion of an ill or infected child enrolled
Family Relations
· Maintain effective communications with families
· Maintain professional conduct when working with parents, staff, & visitors
· Maintain strict confidentiality regarding children & families
· Ensure the physical, emotional, & spiritual well being of each child in the classroom
· Recognize parent concerns, evaluate course of action & respond appropriately to the needs of families. Communicate family concerns to the Executive Director as needed.
· Conduct parent meetings & other conferences as appropriate
· Regularly solicit feedback from parents to improve KT
Job Responsibilities
· Efficient technical & computer skills
· Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – specifically Word & Excel
· Ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written forms
· Ability to have strong administrative/project management skills – must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure
· Relate with honor, respect, and mutual submission to peers, subordinates, and oversight
· Able to cultivate a camaraderie and community among the team
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $11.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
