Essential Job Functions

• Manages the period-end close process including the preparation of financial reports and analysis.

• Prepares account reconciliations and analysis on a timely basis.

• Variance analysis and communication to plant and divisional management.

• Maintains and establishes internal controls.

• Assists with budgeting and forecasting processes.

• Maintenance of the general ledger and supporting documentation.

• Preparation of sales tax returns.

• Assists with the Development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.

• Coordinates with internal and external auditors.

• Assists with product margin analysis & reports findings to Controller

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance, MBA / CMA is an asset

• Candidate should be proficient with US GAAP, accounting knowledge specific to manufacturing

• 3 to 5 years' experience in a plant accountant position in manufacturing or 2 yrs. in Public Accounting conducting audits of manufacturing clients.

• Preference is for at least (1) one experience in hands-on plant cost accounting function

• ERP Systems experience, JDE an asset

• Strong MS Office skills particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint

• JD Edwards a significant asset

• Strong analytical skills.
