What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Infrastructure Intern position at Kimball Electronics Group?
The IT Infrastructure Intern is a broadened role within Kimball Electronics Shared Services that reports to the Senior IT Infrastructure Manager. As an IT intern you will have the opportunity to work with all of our IT teams globally, get hands on experience with IT infrastructure, networking, scripting, and systems administration. We are a global company with a wide variety of business needs that require IT infrastructure support. Internship Goals and objectives:
- Learn KEI Guiding Principles, philosophies, and cultural attributes
- Familiarization with IT Infrastructure systems and processes
- Work to modernize existing scripts and processes for IT systems
- Help identify ways to improve processes across our enterprise
- Assist in exploration and support of public cloud infrastructure
- Learn day to day operation processes and greater knowledge of the role infrastructure plays within our business
Preferred candidates will have interest in expanding their knowledge in the following:
- Windows Server Operating Systems, Active Directory and Group Policy
- Storage arrays and infrastructure
- TCP/IP networking
- Server platforms including Cisco UCS and HPE
- VMware hypervisor
- Enterprise services including DNS, DHCP, RDS, and Exchange
- Office 365 services including Azure AD, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, & Power BI
- Microsoft PowerShell
- Microsoft SQL server
- Enterprise Linux
- Cybersecurity best practices
