The Sr. Shopper Insights Team Leader II role demands a strong understanding of consumer, shopper and retail trends as well as strong leadership skills. Qualified candidates will have experience and expertise in fundamental insight development methods, and a strong history of providing compelling insights and presentations in support of brand and category growth. This person needs to be seen as a thought leader by retail and internal senior leadership, and to have the ability to engage cross-functional teams to solve shopper problems and influence activation. A background of shopper, consumer and / or category insights is essential to success in the role. This team leader will manage seven Sr. Shopper Insights managers across multiple customers. Key capabilities will include strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively across teams and to interact with customers. In this role, you will: Develop talent and capabilities of the Shopper Insights team. Build strong, sustainable business relationships at various levels throughout organization and with customers. Deepen the team’s understanding of the business environment, of winning strategies, and of shopper and retailer trends. Support the team in working dynamically to identify business needs and adapting to the ever-changing environment. Coach the team to exploit internal insights and execute new research designed to illuminate business opportunities and drive retail activation. Drive strategic initiatives within the team that lead to insight-driven activation. Foster a collaborative environment to fuel cross-pollination of ideas. Drive a ‘lift & shift’ mindset that maximizes resources and increases the value of Shopper Insights across customers. To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree; MBA or Master’s Degree preferred. Experience in Shopper, Category, and / or Consumer insights. Leadership experience, including experience within a matrix organizational environment. Retail and customer-facing responsibility required. Expertise in common shopper insights methods and practices. Experience managing both direct reports, dotted line team members and stakeholders. Demonstrated strategic thought leader and decision maker. Preferred Experience/Qualifications: Empowered strategic thinker and decision maker experience assessing risks. Experienced with analyzing shopper insights and driving retailer solutions that deliver category and brand growth. Experienced at analyzing data, including syndicated data. Experience and drive to explore new, behavioral science based methods. Skills/Competencies: Ability to synthesize data into insights, develop and communicate strategic thinking. Ability to uncover core issues and opportunities, engage others in problem solving and identifying solutions. Ability to influence and lead others, critical thinking, project management, and working cross-functionally. Ability to drive change in the team and broader organization. Strong decision maker who can uncover objectives and drive clarity through the organization. Other Skills: Time management, ethical judgment and decision making, active listening, adaptability, interpersonal and social perspectives. Ability to operate and use telephones, computers/laptops and other technological devices/software programs (e.g. Windows, PowerPoint, Excel).
