In your Mechanical Engineer role, you’ll help us deliver better care for billions of people around the world. The position is for an asset-focused mechanical engineer supporting the pants platforms. The selected engineer will lead improvement efforts on three to six Depend pant assets at NCSF and will report to the engineering team leader. Responsibilities: Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop and deliver equipment and processes that meet safety requirements, policies, and guidelines. Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance, and other personnel. Initiate, design, develop, and optimize asset changes and supporting processes to achieve platform objectives. Develop knowledge and skills to be recognized as an implementer of engineering principles and/or scientific analysis in meeting platform objectives. Maintain security and documentation to ensure the retrieval of data and protection of proprietary information. Seek, recognize, define, and solve problems/opportunities to achieve platform objectives. Communicate fully with superiors, subordinates and others who have need to know; be informative without being obtrusive or vexatious; communicate in a way that is timely, yet prompt; complete, yet concise; candid, yet accurate; and clear, yet responsive. Assist in the development of others in area(s) of his/her expertise, while demonstrating an understanding of those with a diverse background or experience. Improve process capability to deliver a reduction in defects and variability. Identify, develop, and implement products, processes, materials, systems, and procedures to achieve business objectives. Qualifications: Requires a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university. Requires a minimum of 3 years engineering experience in a variety of technical or operational assignments in a high-speed consumer product manufacturing and/or staff environment. A demonstrated ability to perform in cross-functional teams to achieve objectives within required timeframes. Capable of providing work direction, decision-making, and team leadership elements such as goal setting or returning to "standard”. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated ability of writing and presenting updates to leadership. Experience with the preparation of appropriation documents including appropriation write-ups, appropriation estimates, asset detailing, asset write-offs, etc. Up to 10 years of experience in a variety of mill manufacturing and staff support or capital project assignments, including maintenance and asset support. Experience working in or with KC personal care production facilities. Experience working with external technical service providers.
