BUSINESS UNIT: TERMINALS
Kinder Morgan is the largest independent terminal operator in North America, providing a strong, reliable network of 144 terminals serving our customers’ storage, distribution, blending and logistical needs. Our terminals store and handle renewable fuels, petroleum products, chemicals, vegetable oils and other products. We have a combined liquids storage capacity of approximately 151 million barrels and handle about 59 million tons of dry bulk materials annually.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Perform safety orientation for visitors/3rd parties •Monitor contractors/3rd parties for safety violations
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Experience / specific knowledge:
- Certifications, licenses, registrations:
- Must pass and complete any required Kinder Morgan specific safety training as may be required by Customer(s) and as required at all Kinder Morgan work locations
- Must be able to pass required safety courses at the Houston Area Safety Council
- Must obtain and/or meet all requirements to enter foreign trade zones; such as background checks by both the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security, i.e. obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
- The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed
Competencies, skills, and abilities:
- PC literacy and software navigation skills in a window-based environment are essential
- Safety in performance of duties common to the position
- In order to appropriately perform the essential duties of this job, regular work attendance is required
- Able to carry out supervisors instructions
- Self-motivated
- Must be willing to work rotating shifts, including day, night, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to work overtime hours during the week, weekends, and holidays as dictated by operations with little or no notice
- Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details and follow work rules
Physical/Working Conditions:
- Regularly exposed to outside in adverse weather conditions Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge
- Experience in windows based software would be advantageous
