Kindering, a not-for-profit neurodevelopmental center, has provided comprehensive services for children with special needs and their families since 1962. Current services include comprehensive developmental assessments, physical and occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, special education, family counseling, a feeding team, childcare consultation, parenting education, and family resource coordination.

Purpose

Provide access to coordinated services across agencies for young children with developmental disabilities and their families in compliance with Part C.

This is a 40 hour per week position that works Monday-Friday with 38 total days off and up to 11 paid holidays off per year. $1800 bilingual stipend/year if eligible. Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage referrals and schedule developmental evaluation to determine eligibility for Part C services
  • Serve as point of contact in helping parents obtain needed services (both within Kindering and the community), funds and assistance
  • Coordinate evaluations and assessments and identify service providers available to the child and family
  • Maintain documentation of FRC activities in each child’s file and collectively for agency records, billing, and tracking
  • Communicate and collaborate with insurance billing, service providers, school districts, and other agencies as needed
  • Facilitate development, scheduling and review of Individual Family Service Plans, helping create and monitor functional, family-centered goals
  • Ensure compliance of Kindering, IDEA Part C, and school district policies, procedures, and timelines
  • Provide care and program planning, coordination, anticipatory guidance for complex health needs, assistance to access services both within Kindering and in the community), resource development, interagency coordination, quality management and administration to support Medicaid programs
  • Maintain confidentiality of all client information
  • Help transition families to other services when child exits Kindering
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications


Required Education & Experience

  • B.A. /B.S. degree in a field related to social services or early support services preferred, A.A. degree or equivalent experience accepted as well
  • Experience working in a field of social services or early support highly preferred
  • Fluency in another language highly preferred (speaking, reading, writing)

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Be able, upon hire, to be trained by and registered with the DSHS Infant Toddler Early Support Program and King County ICC
  • Experience and comfort with interacting with diverse populations
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Ability to demonstrate reliability and punctuality
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain detailed records
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively under stressful conditions
  • Pass the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) criminal history and background check, as well as the FBI fingerprint check
  • Strictly maintain the confidentiality of all client information in accordance with privacy regulations and organizational policies
  • Demonstrate proficiency in word processing and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, and Access
  • Possess a valid Washington State driver's license and maintain valid automobile insurance coverage
  • Have access to a dependable personal vehicle for transportation purposes
  • Possess the physical ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Provide documentation of a negative tuberculosis test result
  • Provide proof of current immunizations, including COVID-19 and Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccines, or submit a titer test result demonstrating immunity*
