What Pre-Requisites You’ll Have:


Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture

Roughly 3-5 years experience – preferably in commercial interior design as it relates to architecture

NCIDQ Certification achieved or in progress

What Skill-Sets You’ll Possess:


Technical Skills:


Design Process: Understanding the architectural and interior design process from concept to execution.

Design Principles: Grasp architectural and interior design principles and techniques. Apply this knowledge to create innovative and functional designs.

Technical Understanding: Intermediate knowledge of building design and construction aspects. Understand materials, building codes, and sustainability practices.

Feasibility: Ensure that your imaginative designs are feasible and compliant with regulations and construction methods with the client’s budget in mind.

Intermediate Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and rendering software

Knowledageable in Adobe Photoshop and other Creative Suite

Intermediate Level Interior Design Production Tasks, including:

Modeling medium to large projects

Independently Execute Prototypes, with customizations

Prototypical project Specs related to interiors

Execute Full Drawings Sets of interior design related sheets for Small and Medium Projects

Millwork Sections and Details for Small to Medium projects

Code Compliance/ Egress Sheets for Small to Medium projects

Finish selection, with senior designer review

Create content such as renders, graphic presentations, and material boards

Other Production tasks

Intermediate Level Interior Design tasks, including

Participating in Design Charettes

Independently Execute Exhibits and Studies, as needed

Independent design work with senior designer review

Take Field Measurements

Pickup redlines.

Prepare a schematic or DD level client presentation

Mentoring/Assisting other production staff as needed.

Self-sufficient in task execution and proactive in meeting project needs.

Work with Senior Interior staff to maintain interior design standards

Independently review shop drawings and RFI’s

Independently conduct CA coordination

How You'll Integrate:


Day-to-Day:


You’ll engage in a variety of tasks that contribute to the architectural and interior design process.

Collaborate with architects and project designers to create architectural and interior designs, renders, and client schematic presentations.

Use software like Revit, AutoCAD, and Lumion. Prepare detailed construction drawings using Revit/AutoCAD. Generate interior plans, elevations, sections, and design details.

Ensure accurate communication of design intent to contractors and builders.

Attend client meetings to grasp project requirements and objectives as well as take detailed notes during those meetings to help inform design decisions and create action items. Participating in meetings related to assigned projects independently.

Attend internal design charettes and help conduct precedent study research.

Conduct site visits to gather information on existing conditions, constraints, and context for design projects. Understand the physical environment where the project will be implemented.

Stay informed about local building codes, zoning regulations, and legal requirements. Ensure that interior designs adhere to safety standards and legal guidelines.

Select appropriate materials, finishes, and building systems. Specify materials and construction methods in compliance with industry standards.

Collaborate with engineers, architects and clients to ensure a seamless integration of all aspects of the project design.

Stay up to date with the current design techniques, materials, and best practices

Maintain library cleanliness and organization such as recycling boxes, returning loose samples, packaging samples to be returned.

Collaborate with Interior Intern and Interior Designer I to schedule rep meetings

Order samples for related projects and as requested by lead designers

Actively collaborating with the Kinetic Interior Design Krew.

Adhere to all aspects of Kinetic’s HR handbook.
