Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. As an LPN, you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the well-being and comfort of patients while adhering to all healthcare regulations and protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
- Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and changes in patient condition
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement care plans
- Provide health coaching and education to patients and their families
- Perform basic life support procedures in emergency situations
- Collect and process specimens for laboratory testing
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Assist with case management activities, including coordinating referrals and follow-up care
- Provide primary care services such as wound care, injections, and vaccinations
Qualifications:
- Valid LPN license in the state of Alabama
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy practices
- Experience in medication administration and dosage calculations
- Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation processes
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in laboratory procedures and specimen collection processing
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Previous experience in case management or care coordination
- Basic knowledge of dialysis procedures
