JOB SUMMARY

The Physician Recruiter is designed specifically to assist in the recruitment of qualified primary care physicians and sub-specialist to enhance the medical staff. To assist the Medical Affairs in developing a cohesive, KDMC-loyal medical staff with a strong referral-network system. Maintain physician candidate files in compliance with accepted legal practices and appropriate regulations in recruitment of physicians; ensure completeness and orderliness of physician candidate files at all times with regards to all government regulations.

Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:
Recruits qualified primary care physicians and subspecialists to address the needs of the community and of the medical staff to further develop a cohesive, KDMC-loyal medical staff with a strong referral-network
Assess, evaluate and prioritize the medical staff needs of the medical center based upon physician interview; physician-to-population analysis; comparisons with medical centers in similar settings and bed size; community needs/leadership input and any other physician needs information sources available to further ensure that KDMC meets the healthcare needs of the community.
Writes recruitment plans/strategies that include the recruiting of primary care and subspecialists to the medical staff and communicates the plan to the physician recruitment committee.
Identifies qualified physician candidates by utilizing physician database software; contingency and full-service recruitment agencies; direct mail pieces; placement of practice opportunities in professional journals and other sourcing activities as deemed necessary.
Organizes on-site visits and ensures the candidate has the opportunity to meet with KDMC medical staff and tour the facility and community; investigates and verifies reference and background checks on candidates.
Refers office practice consultant services for new physicians; Coordinates social committee meetings; Plans and orchestrates several social functions per year for medical staff; Organizes and tracks recognition events for medical staff.
Collaborate closely with directors, managers, strategic leaders and physician leaders to secure the highest quality physician with a clear adaptive culture to that of our health system.

Minimum requirement:
-
Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university
Strong relationship builder
Valid KY State driver's license and maintain car insurance as mandated by the Commonwealth of Kentucky to transport physician candidates to and from the airport and destinations as determined in itinerary.

Healthcare knowledge/experience
One to two years related experience and/or training in physician recruitment
Sales experience
