What are the responsibilities and job description for the Waitress-Waiter/Bartender position at Kings Seaport?
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant
- Escort guests to their tables and provide them with menus
- Assist in seating guests according to seating chart or guest preferences
- Order taking and up-selling, suggestive selling
- Maintain a clean and organized service station/bar station
- Collaborate with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and requests with professionalism and courtesy
Experience:
- Previous experience as a service or bartending or in a customer service role is preferred
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and calculating wait times
- Knowledge of food handling safety regulations is a plus
- Experience in banquet or event hosting is beneficial
- Familiarity with bartending or drink preparation is an advantage
- Sales skills to promote specials, upsell menu items, and handle customer inquiries
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of the food industry, including different cuisines and dietary restrictions
- Proficiency in using Aloha POS system or similar restaurant management software is desirable
- Brewing knowledge for coffee shops or breweries is an asset
- Familiarity with operating a cash register for processing payments
