To help us continue to grow our offerings, we’re searching for a Senior Accountant to do the following:
Responsibilities:
- Must be self-motivated and work well under pressure within a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
- Strong support for Financial Controller; being the back up for critical finance functions and being able to adapt to rapidly changing priorities
- Assist in the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for distribution to senior management
- General ledger accounting including preparation of journal entries and other reconciliations for month-end close including strong balance sheet control
- Verify and investigate discrepancies in reconciliations
- Analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations to senior management to improve business performance and profitability
- Review and analysis of product margins
- Process outgoing check and online payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns and submissions including sales & use taxes and 1099’s
- Ensure compliance with IRS, state registrations and sales taxes (W-9, sales tax, etc.)
- Facilitates timely resolution of escalated issues, risks, and decisions
- Ensures compliance with Corporate and IFRS accounting standards, audit requirements and internal control procedures
- Digital transition of the finance dept - communicating with stakeholders and storage of records via digital means as we move to 100% paperless
- Will play a key role in assisting the finance function as part of future ERP integrations
- Provide requested support during Internal and External audits within required deadlines
- Some infrequent domestic travel, project dependent (inventory counts, other site locations etc.)
- Bespoke projects upon request, e.g. mergers, data collection, environmental reporting etc.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in in Finance or Accounting or equivalent is preferred. CPA / ACA qualified is desirable but not a must
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in a similar finance position with increasing responsibilities;
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing or retail business is a plus
- Attention to detail and proven analytical/problem-solving skills is a must
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, both written and verbal
- Highly organized, results driven, and deadline focused
- Ability to set priorities, investigate discrepancies and recommend solutions
- Contribute to a continuous improvement approach
- Team player who will actively contribute to the finance team in order to complete tasks, meet goals and manage projects.
- Experience using integrated ERP systems (Infor, Epicor, Quickbooks or similar)
- Microsoft Office proficient (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams etc)
- Proficient in MS Excel (familiar with use of Pivots, V-Lookups, etc)
- Knowledge of GAAP and / or IFRS
