Description: The Project Accountant is responsible for all accounting and administrative duties related to their assigned projects. Primary tasks include contract creation and administration for construction, and service maintenance contracts. Entering approved invoices from subcontractors and materials into the accounting software, as well as following up on past due invoices for job billings and closeout. Monthly responsibilities include review of current jobs for required change orders, preparing monthly billings and job cost forecasting with data from the Project Managers. Additional duties will include contract compliance review and tracking including certificates of insurance for all contract types including but not limited to contractors, subcontractors, and leases. Extensive internal and external communication will be required to facilitate workflow between the Accounting, Property Maintenance, and Legal/Leasing Departments. The Project Accountant will report directly to the Senior Accountant, and indirectly to the Controller, VP of Project Maintenance, and CFO.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Work with the Property Maintenance department for preparation and distribution of subcontract and purchase order agreements with the required compliance attachments
- Track compliance of all subcontractors, and material suppliers
- Scan and enter invoices from subcontractors into the accounting software
- Prepare owner and subcontractor change orders
- Preparation of timely monthly project billings
- Monthly analyzing of projects with Project Managers to prepare for financial reporting requirements
- Review certificates of insurance for proper coverages as dictated by contracts.

Requirements:
- 2-4 Year post-secondary degree or equivalent industry work experience, required
- Prior accounting experience, required
- Prior experience in the construction industry, preferred
