In the 2022-23 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region is comprised of four schools educating 2,500 students, kindergarten through tenth grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida:
KIPP Impact Academy: Kindergarten - 2nd grade, 6th - 8th grade
KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten - 7th grade
KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade
KIPP Bold City High School: 9th - 10th grade
For the 2022-23 school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.
K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30pm
High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30pm.
Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Job Description
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks inspiring, certified Spanish teacher. We have opportunities to work with either our elementary students in Kindergarten - 4th grade or with our high school students in 9h and 10th grade.
Specials teachers should have a clear vision for their subject that includes students engaging in culturally appropriate and fun learning. This full-time position works closely with the existing specials departments. These departments vary by school. As a specials teacher, they would likely see students across multiple grade levels and be responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their school leader.
OUR CURRENT MODEL
The specials schedule is subject to change and can vary from school to school. The specials team consists of up to seven teachers for the entire school, depending on the size of the school. Each specials teacher instructs students across multiple grade levels.
Depending on the specials area subject, the teacher may travel to classrooms or have students transition to their own classroom space. Class size is typically ~26 students and typically a teacher will see a class about once per week in a given rotation.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification in Spanish K-12
At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom
