POSITION DESCRIPTION
Accounting Clerk
PAY TYPE: Hourly Salaried
Non-Exempt Exempt
SCHEDULE: Full Part Time
Purpose: To provide financial, administrative, and clerical support to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial and administrative operations.
Essential Duties:
- Accounts Payable – accurately enter all incoming invoices, and follow up on all invoice issues, verify we have received and entered all invoices per vendor statement.
- Accounts Receivable – accurately enter and post all checks, wire transfers, ach payments, and credit card payments to the appropriate accounts.
- Maintain accounts payable report and accounts receivable report and make sure it is accurate and up to date.
- Manage incoming calls and inquiries from vendors and customers.
- Entering and confirming journal entries with guidance from management and CPA
- Assist in closing month end and year end books and gathering all pertinent reports and submitting to management and CPA.
- Non-Essential Duties: What duties are assigned to this position as an add-on? Secondary duties that are “nice to have” or functions that the incumbent may do when their essential functions are completed. Cross train employees.
- Pick up and distribute mail.
- Make deposits at the bank.
- Run errands, as necessary.
- Represent KTC at Company events, internal/external audits, customer visits, and job fairs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience & Education High school diploma or equivalent; a minimum 1 - 2 years of relevant experience in accounting.

- Proficiency in Microsoft desktop applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Professional written and verbal communication.
- The ability to teach and train others.
- Working Conditions & Physical Demands (is there lifting, standing, walking requirements; is worked performed sitting for extended periods of time) Work is performed in an office setting, sitting at a computer for extended periods of time. Periodic lifting up to 25lbs. is required (assistance is available if needed). Office is sometimes noisy with interruptions (telephone, visitors). Normal operation hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
