Specifics of the Job:
This is a part-time position for the Administrative Assistant to work Monday-Friday, 8:40 am to 2:00 pm.
Function of the Job
This job supports the Preschool Director, staff, and teachers in the day-to-day operations of the Preschool program.
Supervision
Administrative Assistant works under the supervision of the On-Site Director. The Administrative Assistant is reviewed for quality of performance and compliance with the beliefs and policies of the Kirk of the Hills Church.
Major Duties:
1. Responsible for the programmatic functions of operation of the
Preschool. These functions are as follows:
- Assist in classroom or on playground when needed, or to give breaks
- Substitute in classroom when needed in an emergency
- Report classroom attendance
- Maintain CPR, AED and First Aid certification
- Maintain friendly, professional relationship with Preschool families and visitors
- Monitor Preschool doors and access
- Greet families at arrival and dismissal
- Conduct tours of the Preschool; familiar with classroom organization and schedules
- Familiar with DHS requirements for Emergency Procedures
- Able to effectively communicate with children, families, teachers and staff
2. Responsible for the administrative and clerical functions of the Preschool. These functions are as follows:
- Answer phones, make copies, scan and fax documents
- Answer emails and messages in courteous and timely manner
- Proficient in Microsoft, Word and Excel
- Excellent communication skills
- Schedule tours of Preschool Program
- Assist with the administrative needs related to curriculum and lesson plans
- Timely follow-up with parents and families regarding enrollment questions
Qualifications
Physical Requirements:
- Active member of a local Christian church
- Able to lift 45 pounds
- Able to sit on the floor for short periods of time to interact with children
