What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cabling Technician position at KIT Network Cabling?
We are hiring field technicians to install low voltage cabling and various communication systems in the Central and Eastern Pennsylvania area. Applicants at all experience levels will be considered. On-The-Job training available for apprentice level technicians who are motivated to learn.
Systems to be installed include:
- Cat5e and Cat6 Cabling
- Fiber Optic cabling systems
- Video Security (CCTV)
- Door Security (Access Control) systems
- Overhead Paging interfacing with phone systems
- Wireless LAN systems
Other Job Requirements
- Must have own vehicle and able to travel anywhere in the Central and Eastern PA area.
- Hours are typically M-F business hours, but vary by job based upon customer requirements. Some jobs will require 2nd shift, weekend work, and even 3rd shift.
- As some work sites include K12 schools, applicants will need to complete background checks as required by the state for working in schools (Child Abuse Clearance, State Criminal Records Check, and Federal Criminal History)
- Must be able to work on aerial scissors lifts
- Job requires a basic understanding of networking (simple IP address assignments at a minimum)
