Employee-owned Kitchell is seeking experienced and dedicated Healthcare Low Voltage Subject Matter Expert - Design and Project Manager to join our Northern California region in Sacramento and build a long-term career at one of the most innovative and growth-oriented building companies in the United States. This opportunity will lead Renovation, Tenant Improvement, and New Construction across a Healthcare Campus within and around an active hospital in accordance with HCAI (OSHPD) regulatory oversight guidelines.
Overview
Performs Low Voltage discipline specific Construction Management in an operational California acute Healthcare environment. Provides service for the design, construction, close-out, and handover of hospital projects with specific responsibility to multiple systems, including low voltage, DAS, secure access / CCTV, as well as public address and nurse intercoms. This is an Owner’s Representative position and is client facing.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Strong knowledge of construction management including contract administration, schedule, project controls, and change order management
- Work within Occupied Space in a large healthcare campus HCAI setting
- Adherence to client Quality Assurance standards to ensure compliance to project requirements
- Participate in preconstruction design efforts for facility low voltage systems
- Coordinate, direct, and monitor activities of low voltage construction staff
- Participate in project meetings to include documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information and statuses
- Ensure project closeout to secure appropriate provisions for final project delivery to owner entities
- Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through own actions and mentoring of others
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related field preferred but not required
- 5 or more years of experience and background in the design and construction management and/or supervision of the following systems in a California acute healthcare HCAI environment are strongly preferred:
- Structural Cabling System Infrastructure
- Nurse Call Systems
- Physical Security (Access Control and CCTV)
- Infant Protection
- Integrated Operating Rooms
- Building Clock and Intercom
- Overhead Public Address
- DAS – Cellular
- DAS – Emergency Responder Radio Communication (ERRCS)
- DAS – Facility Radio (Engineering and Security)
- Working knowledge of HCAI submittals, plan review, construction and approval process is required
- Working knowledge of estimate conceptual construction costs for low voltage systems is required
- Ability to develop phasing strategy for low voltage construction projects to be completed in compliance with PCRA, ICRA and Code Requirements and with the paramount goal of patient safety is required
- User proficiency with Office 365, AutoCAD, MS Project is required
- Active BICSI Membership is required
- RCDD Certification is required
- RTPM Certification is strongly preferred
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work in an office and or construction environment. Conditions regularly include exposure to outdoor elements, hot/cold temperatures, wet conditions, noise, atmospheric conditions, and cramped quarters. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly sit, stand, walk, talk or hear and use hands to finger, feel and handle; frequently reach with hands and arms; occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must frequently lift and or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
