Credit Reporting Specialist

Kitsap Credit Union is hiring a full-time, hourly Credit Reporting Specialist to work out of our Bremerton Harborside corporate office in beautiful Kitsap County Washington. This position will coordinate and oversee Loan Servicing (LS) transactions and processes relative to credit reporting information and credit disputes, while also supporting the LS team in various high[1]risk tasks and responsibilities. Attention to detail with the ability to work autonomously, and in such a manner as to ensure effective, efficient, and regulatory compliant department operations, are key to success in this role.

Typical Job Duties

• Contribute to effective department and credit union operations via processing and oversight for quality control in Collateral Protection Insurance, Subordination Reviews, Insurance Claims, Real Estate servicing, Titles Processing, Total Loss and GAP claims processing, and other high-risk transactions in servicing.
• Oversee the investigation, analysis, and monitoring of credit bureau reporting to ensure credit union alignment with legal and compliance requirements, Consumer Data Industry Association (CDIA) guidelines, and industry best practices. Recommend and implement process updates for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Establish and manage queues for credit disputes via mail, eOSCAR, internal email and other channels, and complete various requests under the scope of established internal policies and procedures, and within regulated timelines to ensure adherence to compliance guidelines.
• Create and maintain various exception level reports to ensure proper credit reporting, accurate coding, and identification of accounts requiring additional research for trend analysis.
• Identify credit reporting errors generated in account opening, collections or servicing processes, identification of system irregularities needing research, make corrections, and collaborate with KCU management to implement processing changes within the business unit to ensure errors will not recur.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• Minimum three years of experience in loan processing, servicing, underwriting or similar in a financial industry.
• Minimum one year of experience with credit reporting software such as E-Oscar, AUD, ACDV reporting.
• Must have or obtain FCRA Advanced Certificate within six months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates degree.
