Job Description: Warehouse Facility Lead
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Warehouse Facility Lead reports to the Logistics Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility, inbound and outbound freight, adherence to safety and organizational policies and procedures, supervising warehouse personnel, maintaining equipment and overseeing building maintenance.
JOB DUTIES BY FUNCTION
WAREHOUSE AND INVENTORY
- Responsible for receiving, shipping, packing and storage of all freight, product, and supplies; maintain receipts and dispatch notes for all transactions
- Proper storage of skids or other materials, maintaining cleanliness of the facility and the proper condition of the inventory
- Receipt of inventory (including returns of defective parts) documented and forwarded to the Logistics Manager
- Process Warranty Part Returns and RGAs
- Optimize warehouse layout and space requirements
- Oversee warehouse team members
- Responsibilities include assisting in choosing applicant(s) to interview/hire, training, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving issues
- Process orders according to established procedures, FIFO principal and delivery schedules; verify and complete documentation
- Conduct weekly spot-checks of inventory levels, supplies, and equipment
- Process after hours emergency orders based on alternating schedule
- Follow all government safety and regulatory policies
- Responsible for basic maintenance of forklift, pallet jacks and scales
- Responsible for and reporting on periodic spot counts for inventory levels as well as the shipping tools and warehouse supplies on a weekly basis to the Logistics Manager
- Coordinate, prepare and schedule bi-annual full inventories
- Process and arrange for the removal of scrapped items/parts
- Maintain facility compliance with safety, health and environmental regulations; document and report as required (SDS/MSDS)
- Insure the smooth operation of facility related services to include cleaning/janitorial, repairs and maintenance, signage, grounds landscaping and snow removal
- Contribute to the reduction of facility costs, improve efficiency and safety
- Recommend and assist HR with coordination of required Safety trainings (i.e., Arc Flash, Blood borne Pathogens, Forklift Safety, Battery Charging area, Hazcom, etc.)
- Responsible for the adherence to ISO9001:2008/2015 standards, including coordination of safety records and procedures as well as following OSHA guidelines and regulations
FACILITY
- Maintain facility compliance with safety, health and environmental regulations; document and report as required (SDS/MSDS)
- Insure the smooth operation of facility related services to include cleaning/janitorial, repairs and maintenance, signage, grounds landscaping and snow removal

- Accurately maintaining all electronic and paper records
- Working with customers, vendors, managers and other departments to achieve goals
- Ensure transactions are administratively compliant with Company policies, procedures and business processes
- Perform other supportive duties as required to achieve the goals of the team
PERSONAL SKILLS
- Ability to properly execute manual lifting of 50 pounds
- Exposure to a noisy environment and outside weather conditions
- High level of proficiency operating power tools and adhering to necessary safety measures associated with their use and storage
- Demonstrate capacity for self-organization; a methodical approach to work
- Ability to work as a team in a fast paced and pressured environment
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, both written and verbal
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Ensure work responsibilities are covered when absent
- Knowledge of laws, regulations and ISO requirements
- Excellent working knowledge of FedEx shipping software as well as all standard MS office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) and QuickBooks
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma,
- minimum 2 years’ experience in a position utilizing safety and material standards,
- forklift certification and prior work-related experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
- Must be able to read and write English
- Must be able to commit to on call basis for after-hours emergency shipping between 6 pm and 12 AM Monday thru Friday and 8 am to 12 am on the weekend.
