This includes anything from production of components or subassemblies in the 1000s of quantity for customer Production activities, all the way down to complex 1-off prototypes to support customer R&D activities - and just about anything in-between. In addition to traditional machined parts, we produce a wide of range of precision welded structures and fabricated components -- requiring a mix of various fabricated sub-components & specialized fixturing to support welding & integration activities.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Manufacturing Planner at KL Engineering, Inc. located in Morgan Hill, CA. The Manufacturing Planner will be responsible for production planning, communication, and operations management related tasks. This role will include tasks spanning across projects from start-to-finish -- from assisting with estimating on the front-end to outbound shipping on the backend - and just about all steps in between. This role involves coordinating with different teams, both internal & external, to ensure smooth manufacturing processes, optimizing production schedules, managing resources, and communicating updates to all stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be a reliable team-player with a strong work-ethic who takes pride in consistently producing high-quality work for our customers in a fast-paced environment, while continually expanding their own knowledge and skillset in the manufacturing space. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of successful delivery on their responsibilities -- you don't make excuses, you just make things happen.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in Mfg Planning or Mfg Ops role in a machine shop or fabrication shop
- Strong working knowledge of common manufacturing processes and materials desired
- Experience planning & managing manufacturing projects in a commercial ERP system desired
- Experience with estimating processes for custom-manufactured components
- Experience managing BOMs for complex assemblies
- Experience with purchasing both off-the-shelf and custom-components and external vendor management
- Excellent Project / Program Management skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities - ability to think outside the box by leveraging previous experiences to solve new or novel problems
- Attention to detail and excellent time management skills - ability to focus where they're adding value and avoid chasing diminishing returns
- Excellent communication skills to stakeholders at all levels of an organization, both internal & external
- Willingness to apply the same level of focus & rigor to all tasks in support of company goals
