With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. Central Engineering is KLA's largest engineering organization comprised of 9 Centers-of-Excellence (CoE) in various disciplines applied across all product groups in the company. These CoE include Handling & Automation, Precision Motion Control, Sensors & Image Acquisition, Platform Design, and Packaging Engineering, among others. Responsibilities- Help build new electrical cabinets for first article and pre-production assemblies.
- Procure prototype parts, assist in prototype system build and integration, and handoff to manufacturing. These tasks will require working with other groups such as electrical, mechanical, systems, and manufacturing engineers to ensure DfX (Design for eXcellence) criteria are considered accurately.
- Install and route cables and fiber optics. Write procedures to ensure consistent cable routing.
- It is crucial that you communicate effectively with suppliers, and internal customers. Addressing and resolving build issues throughout the product development phase is very important.
- Maintain shop cleanliness, optimize shop layout and organization for efficient prototype builds, and perform shop maintenance when required. Familiarity with 5S is a plus.
- Document and perform incoming and outgoing quality inspection for prototype builds.
- Track build progress daily to maintain a successful build schedule.
- Experience building 19" rack assemblies, including power and communication cabling (including fiber optics). Understanding clean room etiquette and operations is a plus.
- Safety awareness/knowledge of working around AC and DC electrical power.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and Adobe Acrobat Reader. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Visio, and CREO are valuable additions.
- Understand how to read drawings, procedures, shipping labels, and other documentation associated with machine assembly.
- Willingness to learn, actively problem solve, and uphold a high standard of quality.
- Being Self-motivated to consistently be improving shop layout, toolkits, procedure documents, assembly flows, while maintaining the build schedule.
- Detail oriented. Mismanaged cables, misaligned brackets, and dirty shop floors bother you.
- Ability to travel for training and to support development teams in different locations is required (about 10%).
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience.
