Position: Career Advisor

About Us:

Klamath Works is a local non-profit organization committed to providing comprehensive work training programs. We're on the lookout for an enthusiastic individual to ensure our participants receive exceptional support.

Role Overview:

As an Employment Advisor within our vibrant team, you will be responsible for coordinating pre-employment training, internships, job placements, and community services for our program participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct intakes and gather eligibility documents from interested parties, providing tailored career, individualized, and employment services.
  • Maintain accurate records of services delivered using a computer-based management system.
  • Develop Individual Employment Plans and Individual Service Strategies based on participant needs by identifying barriers to employment through assessments.
  • Guide participants in enrolling for education and training opportunities leading to employment.
  • Monitor participant progress, providing counseling, mentoring, and sharing resources as required.
  • Ensure high participant outcome levels to meet performance measures.
  • Track and report workforce activities
  • Offer ongoing support for 12 months post-placement, including mentoring and retention services.
  • Collaborate with training providers and partner agencies to refer participants for appropriate services.
  • Understand and adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures in performing job responsibilities.
  • Prepare financial vouchers and agreements for payments to service providers.
  • Fulfill other duties as directed by management.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience working with adult unemployed or underemployed individuals.
  • Proficiency in Google Docs and Online Data Management programs.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity promotion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate program benefits effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Strong team player with exceptional organizational skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Klamath Falls, OR 97601: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
