For Term:                  ASAP – 4/10/2023, with extension, based on excellence in work provided, need and budget availability.

Scope: Expert Developer is a member of a full lifecycle agile development team. Develops custom software applications and databases, implements enhancements to existing systems, troubleshoots application issues, implements integration between applications, and implements and supports Off the Shelf software solutions. Must be able to make high-level design choices and implement solutions following technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms for the enterprise. Work directly with subject matter experts (SME) and other stakeholders to ensure solutions meet defined requirements. Will be involved, and work in concert with other team members, to analyze, design, implement, and test solutions.

Interviews: At the hiring manager’s discretion, interviews may be conducted via Microsoft Teams or in person.

Telecommuting: Limited telecommuting is currently an option for this position. Candidates are expected to work a minimum of three (3) full days per week in the office. The selected candidate is required to start their first day in the office. In the future, and at the Department's discretion, this option may return to full-time, in the office.

Work Hours: This is a full-time position scheduled at 40 hours per week.  Flexibility to work hours between 6:00 AM & 6:00 PM and/or Saturdays, either on a rotation or as part of a regular and on-call work schedule.

A high school diploma or its equivalent and four years of technical engineering, drafting, architectural or surveying experience;

 

or an associate of arts or science degree in drafting, electronics, engineering technology or other area of engineering and one year of experience as described above;

 

or A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in an area of engineering or in engineering technology.

 

 

 

Job Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

1.      Must have experience in systems analysis, design and a solid understanding of development, quality assurance and integration methodologies.

 

 

2.      Skilled at querying and reporting on data sources within the AASHTOWare systems.

 

 

3.      A minimum of 4 years’ experience with AASHTOWare Software modules for Preconstruction - Letting and Award, and execution of construction contracts.

 

 

4.      Must be proficient in .NET programing with Visual Studio and lifecycle development process using DevOps.

 

 

5.      Must be proficient in FDOT data reporting systems.

 

 

6.      Must be proficient in the use of current Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, working knowledge of Web Servers, Services, and related technologies.

 

 

7.      Must have experience with security systems and user provisioning. Must have experience with role security transfer with implementation of new systems.

 

 

8.      Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work related to the improvement of agency information security practices.

 

 

9.      Must have a knowledge of mainframe resources and have a knowledge of programs installed in the suite of AASHTOWare Software modules at Florida Department of Transportation
