SVP of Finance and Operations

KLR Executive Search is proud to partner with ONE Neighborhood Builders to identify a newly created Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations position. For over 30 years, ONE Neighborhood Builders has been at the forefront of the fight to expand affordable housing and foster healthier, more equitable communities.

Founded in 1988, ONE Neighborhood Builders has established itself as a preeminent community development leader in Rhode Island. The Organization’s mission is to improve lives across Rhode Island by building homes and connecting communities.

They have developed 483 affordable apartments, 130 homeownership opportunities, and nearly 35,000 square feet of commercial and community space—totaling more than $140 million of investments. In addition to its rental portfolio, ONE|NB is the management agent for three condominium associations.

ONE|NB has two new construction multi-housing development projects that will be under construction beginning in the Summer of 2024, with five additional multi-family developments that are in the financing and closing process.

The Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations (SVP) will report to the President and CEO. The SVP will be an essential part of the ONE|NB leadership team, driving the Organization’s strategic expansion from a financial and operational standpoint.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborate and deliberate with peers on ONE|NB’s Leadership Team on topics related to organizational culture, internal operations, programmatic evaluation, and fiscal stewardship.
• Liaise with the Board Treasurer and staff of the Finance Committee; attend and present at quarterly Board of Director meetings.
• Represent the organization at a variety of external meetings and events.
• Collaborate on real estate development and acquisition opportunities, including reviewing and analyzing financial projections, to ensure fiscal soundness and compatibility with organizational strategy.
• Oversee the work of the Director of Accounting and Director of Operations concerning procurement, contracting, corporate insurance, and associated compliance.

The Successful candidate will bring:

• Bachelor’s in accounting/finance or related degree; CPA and/or MBA required, or a combination of degree and experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in a leadership capacity, with experience supervising senior staff,
• 15 years of general accounting experience with thorough knowledge of public finance, budgeting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proven experience developing and leading multi-functional teams, with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization to create buy-in and a sense of shared responsibility.
• Experience with consolidation of multiple corporate entities.
