Responsibilities of R & D Engineer can include:
- Designing, development, testing, evaluation and cost analysis of new products, including side by side and off-road vehicles
- Coordinate with the vehicle design and test group to integrate new accessory parts and ensure they meet specific testing requirements
- Design components and approve drawings for new and existing products with consideration for costs, assimilability, end user application and specifications, using the necessary resources to ensure performance and function
- Designing parts in-house (create 3D model, issue drawings, follow-up with changes as needed)
- Coordinate with outside vendors for accessory parts not designed in-house
- Create project schedules and follow through to ensure parts are designed and finalized within a specific project timeline
- Work with purchasing, engineering, sales, and quality groups as needed throughout the development process
- Analyze and determine causes of failures in products to determine a solution and coordinate the implementation of countermeasures
Qualifications for R & D Engineer:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with 2D and 3D CAD as well as creating assembly manuals and installation manuals preferred
- Must be proficient in reading and writing, following established safety procedures and work instructions
