Agricultural Technician

Primary Job Responsibilities at kmr:

• Safely transport research equipment to sites
• Actively participate in all field operations including planting, harvest, in-season data collection, cultivating, spraying, etc in field locations in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, South Dakota and Illinois
• Assist or take a lead role in with equipment maintenance, repair and fabrication
• Facility maintenance and repair including snow removal, weed control & structural repairs
• Responsible for DOT compliance on all vehicles and trailers
• Hand pollination in breeding nursery
• Other duties may be assigned to match successful applicants interests and skills

Requirements for Research Technician:

• Class A CDL with airbrake endorsement
• Understanding of basic crop production practices, degree in agronomy or related experience highly preferred
• Ability to travel and work seasonal long hours (no Sundays)
• Iowa Pesticide Applicator's license or ability to obtain
• Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs, walk through fields mount and operate farm equipment

• agriculture or agronomy: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• CDL A (Preferred)
