Action Officer to support the Submarine Safety and Quality Assurance Division (SEA07Q) at Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), located in the Washington Navy Yard, Washington, DC. The SEA07Q office is responsible and accountable for the Submarine Safety (SUBSAFE), Fly-By-Wire Ship Control Systems (FBW SCS), and Deep Submergence Systems (DSS) Certification programs. Its director advises the Deputy Commander (SEA07) and acts as the Program Manager for Submarine Safety and Quality Assurance programs. SEA07Q provides quality assurance and independent oversight for all of the SUBSAFE/FBW SCS/DSS certification responsible activities across the globe. This program ensures the safety of all Sailors aboard SUBSAFE, FBW SCS, and DSS certified assets.
Duties:
- Evaluate new or revised submarine maintenance procedures.
- Evaluate, develop, and implement standard operating procedures.
- Evaluate improvements to quality assurance processes and corrective actions taken as a result of audit findings.
- Manage and coordinate required actions and efforts of a variety of activities.
- Attend meetings and prepare presentations, report project status and work commitments.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree.
- Two to four years' experience.
- A current or active DoD Secret security clearance.
- Knowledge of US Navy Quality Assurance programs.
- Knowledge of submarine construction and/or maintenance processes.
- Knowledge of the Navy/NAVSEA organization and interrelationships.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
The typical workday is eight hours in length. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, with concurrence from the supervisor. The employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and must account for the hours in a pay period to maintain full-time status.
Travel:
Up to 10% travel may be required.
