What are the responsibilities and job description for the Order Entry Clerk position at Knights Companies Inc?

Knight's Redi-Mix has an opening for an Order Entry Clerk to receive and accurately enter orders for ready-mix concrete, while providing excellent customer service. This position must also effectively communicate customer needs to the Dispatcher on duty.

Essential Functions:

  • Receive, record, and dispatch orders. Directly enter orders into Systec system with absolute accuracy.
  • Verify specification compliance of all dispatched orders.
  • Communicate professionally and clearly with dispatcher, drivers, production supervisors, sales representatives, and customers to maximize service and production and delivery efficiency.
  • Assist dispatcher with the accurate assignment of orders to ensure correct mixes and maximize delivery efficiency.
  • Complete dispatching and delivery documentation and reports. Forward all orders and sales information as required.
  • Answer routine questions from customers concerning delivery times.
  • Perform general clerical and administrative duties as directed.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in a dispatch capacity preferred but not required.
  • Working computer knowledge; including applicable Microsoft software.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to handle multiple task in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and use construction specifications and concrete mix designs.
  • General knowledge of the properties, characteristics, and performance of concrete mixes, its components, additives, and raw materials.
  • Proficiency in reading, understanding, speaking, writing, and using the English language.
  • Ability to accurately perform basic mathematical functions including adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, percentage computations and basic area and volume computations using fractions, decimal equivalents or whole numbers, and basic area, volume, unit weight, and total weight computations.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to accept and follow direction as provided by managers, and ask questions when needed.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
