What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinician I, II position at Knik Tribe?
Clinician I, II– Benteh Wellness Center (BWC) is a program dedicated to serving the under resourced youth and families in the Mat-Su area. BWC Clinicians are responsible for providing clinical interventions tailored to the Participant’s needs and in adherence to Knik Tribe’s Core Values for Treatment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creates, develops and nurtures culturally sensitive interactions and connections with coworkers, participants, and the community.
- Ensures exceptional Participant service:
- Ensures compliance with established Participant service standards.
- Promotes a Participant-driven approach to service delivery that is culturally sensitive and based on Participant input and feedback.
- Maintains quality, safety, and infection control standards.
- Shares and receives information, opinions, concerns, and feedback in a supportive manner.
- Maintains confidentiality according to HIPAA and other related privacy laws.
- Works in coordination with their assigned Treatment Teams (e.g. Behavioral Health Aides, Peer Support Specialists, and Case Managers) to develop treatment plans for Participants.
- Performs assessment and treatment for a wide range of DSM-V diagnoses using individual, group, and family modalities.
- Directs as the Treatment Team leader for Participants by working with Case Mangers, PSS and BHAs.
- Facilitates a respectful, developmentally appropriate, and culturally sensitive intake assessment and treatment plan.
- Assesses the treatment needs of the Participants; and designs a culturally sensitive and Participant-driven treatment plan.
- Support Participant and family members in methods that facilitate a capacity for self-empowerment.
- Attends and comes prepared to participate in weekly individual and team supervision meetings.
- Cohesively and promptly communicates information to team members and community partners, both in-person and in-writing, regarding Participant needs and communicates information back to the Treatment Team regarding the status of a Participant in the program.
- Develops and monitors a system for tracking the status of various actions and correspondence.
- Performs computer-based tasks and utilizes electronic health record system.
- Maintains licensure.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in behavioral health field including Counseling, Psychology; OR PhD/PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or other related field.
- Two (2) years of supervised clinical work experience for Master’s level Behavioral Health; OR two (2) years of post-graduate clinical experience for PhD or PsyD level
- Current Alaska Clinical License in designated field.
- Must pass a criminal background check and free of barrier crimes.
- Clean driving record.

Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Salary: $62,000 - $80,000 per year DOE/E. Plus full benefits FEHB medical, dental, vision,
life insurance, paid leave and holidays, and retirement plan with matching contributions.
