VP Instructional Technology oversees and provides leadership in the planning and ultimate creation of cutting edge New-school security awareness training products that wow KnowBe4’s customers. The ideal candidate will need to be a technical expert in instructional design methodology as well as implementation of those methods on a mass scale using the latest technologies and best practices. The individual in this role will lead eLearning teams spread over the globe that focus on the creation of storyboard and other conceptional documents as well as the team of frontend developers that make games, assessments, and self-paced eLearning coming to life. Work together with other managers and eLearning support teams in a fast-paced environment to be responsive to customer needs and feedback while always pushing process improvement to drive efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Hire, promote, discipline, and fire subordinate employees in the areas of instructional design and frontend development
- Has an in-depth understanding of best practices for implementation of eLearning in the modern, globally distributed workforce
- Have a strong understanding of SCORM, HTML, CSS, and LMS technologies to function as a subject matter expert to customers and internal teams
- Leads efforts to foster innovative learning experiences such as new knowledge checks, incorporation of gamification, simulations, nudges/drip-learning and assessment techniques
- Work with global teams localizing content for various regions
- Ensure conformance of all published learning materials to web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA)
- Ensure conformance to internal KnowBe4 learning standards
Requirements:
- M.S. or M.A. or M.Ed. in Instructional Technology (or comparable work experience) required
- 10 years of relevant experience delivering eLearning at the scale of at least hundreds of thousands of users across the globe
- Experience with content creation and planning for the web, iOS, iBooks, Android, and other interactive media/mobile platforms
- 5 years experience with the outside vendor management
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal including proper use of grammar and spelling
- Experience analyzing usage, focus group, and feedback reports
- Experience presenting and preparing presentations
- Experience with working with instructional designers and frontend developers
- Experience with localization processes and strategic planning
- Experience with web accessibility standards
