What are the responsibilities and job description for the Powder Coater position at Kobe Solutions?
We are currently looking for a dependable Powder Coater with paint line experience to join our Paint department who will be responsible in the application of powder coating parts, assemblies, and completed Evaporative Coolers. This person should demonstrate knowledge in prepping and applying powder coat paint. They should have experience in powder coating cure times and different powders with various tools and in various clear metallic and texture. We are looking for someone who is reliable and skillful as well as someone who possesses great attention to detail in completing their duties.

Pay: $17 - $19hr
- Overtime: 10hrs
Schedule: Mon - Fri 5:00am - 3:30pm
- Optional Saturday
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- Set-up and operate various types of sizes of spray guns, pressure guns, and other spraying equipment
- Set-up spraying equipment by selecting proper nozzle and adjusting to insure uniform surface covering
- Prepare material for painting operations by assuring proper color is put into hopper
- Clean hopper, gun, and booths as necessary
- Knowledge of and ability to apply standard shop practice and procedure
- Ability to understand fundamental flow of paint line
- Selects proper coating to be applied in accordance with specifications and mixes to proper consistency
- Uses accepted spraying technique to prevent over-spraying and loss of paint
- Disassembles and cleans all spraying equipment; maintains paint room in a clean and orderly manner
- May paint parts by hand for touch-up when necessary
- Necessary to know, understand, and perform according to applicable specifications, codes, and ordinances
- Perform all work in conformance to Occupational Safety and Health Act regulations.
- Conduct the necessary weekend checks of paint booth and paint line
- Maintain open communications with the Senior Production Supervisor regarding the treatment process and overall equipment operation and/or malfunctions, as well as make recommendations and assist maintenance techs with repairs and improvements to these systems
- Assist in the performance of regular and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment and machinery
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and existent requests
- Regularly lift and/or move objects 20-25 lbs.; occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.
Summary of Experience and Education:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years related experience
- Compliance with city and state operating regulations
- Knowledge of powder coating application production specifications
- Knowledge of and ability to operate and maintain paint room equipment
- Knowledge of various chemicals and their compositions as applied to manufacturing powder coating
- Understand fundamentals of material flow through production floor
- Working knowledge of tools and machinery desired
