Summary/Objective
The CNC/onsrud operator operates the machine in the Custom Area under the supervision and direction of the production supervisor.
Essential Functions

1. Places a 4 foot by 8 foot sheet of particle board onto the bed of the machine. A machine lift is provided for assistance.
2. Selects proper program from computer control panel.
3. Follows production list provided by Custom Area Lead or Supervisor to complete daily production totals.
4. Performs typical machine operations to support the assembly floor.
5. Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
6. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
7. Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required by the Maintenance Department and Supervisor.
8. Must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to perform the tasks stated above.
9. Must be willing to receive and accept frequent supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-up.
10. Must be able to identify wood species and adjust machine settings accordingly.
11. Must be able to communicate via written or verbal communication.
12. Must follow all federal and state safety laws and guidelines.
13. The ability to operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes and airborne particles (dust), moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud; hearing protection is provided. Employee must wear required PPE. The employee works in a non-air conditioned facility and is exposed to hot weather.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is required to stand 8 hours per day, walk, bend, twist and reach. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. The employee must push pallets of cabinet parts weighing up to 125 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must work without the influence of illicit drugs, alcohol or other intoxicating substances.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., 40 hours per week, with a 30-minute lunch break.

Experience as machine operator.
