Description
Koch Communications Marketing is looking for a Communications Director to join our team located in Washington, DC. This is an exciting opportunity to help share Koch's story with the media and the public while also managing strategic communications engagements across a variety of companies, industries, and issue areas.
This role will help develop the media engagement strategy for Koch Industries while also driving the proactive and reactive media responses on key issues. This role will work closely with key internal stakeholders.
- Proactively build relationships with key internal teams to find opportunities to create value with communications support - while also promoting and protecting Koch in the media
- Partner with Koch companies on potential media engagements that advance business goals
- Develop external policy and issue communications strategy
- Own communications agency relationships
- Support key Koch executives' communications efforts
The Experience You Will BringRequirements:
- Professional work experience in communications, issue advocacy, or public affairs - corporate, political, trade, or agency
- Experience developing and executing comprehensive communications plans with multiple complex workstreams
- Experience writing and editing press releases and fact sheets
- Ability to travel up to 10%

- Eight or more years professional work experience in communications, issue advocacy, or public affairs - corporate, political, trade, or agency
- Comfortable engaging with media on the record
- Ability to maintain focus with quick-changing priorities and work with minimal supervision
- Detail-oriented and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment
- Experience working with external agencies and consultants
- Strong risk/reward analytical mindset
- Entrepreneurial mindset and self-motivated
