Koch Capabilities is seeking a Data Security Analysts to join our Data Management and Enablement & Transformation team! Our vision is to develop a long-term sustainable capability utilizing data and technology to transform finance, while focusing on safeguarding Koch Finance Data Assets. We aim for our products to be easily reusable, highly transferable, and readily available in centralized and standardized formats.
Our Team
The DMET (Data Management, Enablement and Transformation) team is focused on developing a long-term sustainable capability utilizing data and technology to transform finance. This includes a diverse group with multiple teams focused on data platform technologies, specific data products and transformation with an emphasis on data security. Our strategy will empower the finance and tax organizations to create superior value while consuming few resources, unlocking analytical capabilities, mitigating risk, and meeting ever-changing regulatory requirements.
The Data Security Analyst will be responsible for providing security and access management guidance to our data products and their platform. In this role, you will develop and document best practices and standards for data access, security, encryption, and retention policies. Ensure various security and compliance requirements are adhered to.
What You Will Do
- Define best practices and standards for data and network security.
- Develop, document and enforce data security policies.
- Maintain an access management strategy including approval and grant processes to ensure individuals only have the right access to the right data for the right time to perform their function.
- Routinely monitor and audit access in order verify the security effectiveness and leverage findings for further enhancement.
- Define and administrate a process for periodic access audits to remove unnecessary access.
- Ensure compliance with Koch policies around cloud networking and data security.
- Work with teams to enforce compliance with security standards.
- Consult with teams evaluating new tools and technology for the platform to provide input from a security lens.
- Provide tier II support as needed for issues relating to security.
- Conduct data analysis utilizing query languages and reporting tools as needed to audit and enforce security protocols.
- Create dashboards to visualize the risk exposure created by access to sensitive data.
- Manage security problems and incidents to resolution.
- Train platform team, data providers, and data consumers on data policies and best practices.
- Test platform security model for effectiveness as changes are introduced.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Relevant work experience in creating, administering, or enforcing strict data security policies and procedures.
- Ability to identify and articulate risk created by the aggregate of many user's access to sensitive data.
- A passion for protecting data as a valuable asset
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience implementing Row level security for multiple use cases.
- Experience implementing or managing data masking techniques.
- Working knowledge of technologies such as AWS, Snowflake, Matillion, Alteryx, SQL, Tableau, or SailPoint.
- Relevant data or cyber security certification.
- Experience working in an Agile SCRUM team.
