Accountant

Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) is seeking a contribution-minded Accountant to join the Controller's Organization. This position will engage, challenge, and provide fulfillment to a candidate with strong critical thinking skills and an economic focus, who enjoys collaborating with others, and who seeks to originate ideas that can provide new insights for our business.

This role can office out of any of our Wichita, KS or Houston, TX based locations, but a preference is to Wichita, KS where our headquarters is located.

What You Will Do

• Lead a key role in the close consolidation process - perform close checks and global governance, oversee elimination and economic ledgers, and prepare leadership reporting
• Be a key contributor in the year-end report and audit process, including preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and various business accounting groups
• Complete various monthly/quarterly reporting to meet business, Koch, and external requirements
• Assist in implementation of new accounting standards, policies, and processes
• Assist in the global governance of internals control and compliance in financial reporting, proactively identify and measure accounting exposures
• Identify and implement innovation opportunities in the financial reporting space that can be leveraged across the Koch enterprises
• Provide ad hoc information, reporting, and/or data analytics to other capabilities and business partners

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Experience in an Accounting/Finance focused role(s) that required a solid understanding of accounting processes, US GAAP requirements, and financial reporting
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Teams, SharePoint, PowerApps)
• Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel Experience (spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis and formula creation)

What Will Put You Ahead

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related Business field
• Two (2) or more years of a combination of experience in Accounting and Analysis roles
• Experience using OneStream, Power BI, Alteryx, or other data analytic and visualization tools
• Experience with accounting consolidation, including intercompany eliminations and consolidating international entities with foreign currencies
• Experience in process innovation/transformation/implementation
