Complex HACCP Coordinator Job Summary : The Food Safety Manager / HACCP Coordinator is primarily responsible for

providing technical support and guidance in the areas of HACCP, Food Safety and NPIS. Primary Duties & Responsibilities : Supervise, manage and direct department team members, ensuring adherence to safe food handling practices and regulatory compliance* Provide weekly update to Complex Manager, Plant Manager, QA Manager and Assistant Plant Manager on results, actions, etc.

Under direction of QA Manager, write and administer HACCP and NPIS programs, updating and revising when necessary* Under direction of QA Manager, write, update and revise SOPs and SSOPs* Verify documented corrective and preventive measures for SSOP, HACCP and NPIS programs, ensuring intention of regulatory requirements are met* Interact on behalf of company with USDA personnel on regulatory and food safety issues* Assist with annual HACCP / Food Safety / NPIS training* Support, train and act as subject matter expert ensuring safe food handling practices and regulatory compliance, while producing quality products* Educate and coach regarding Food Safety Programs, HACCP, SOPs and SSOPs* Lead preparation, and assist QA Manager with 3rd party audits (i.

e. BRC, AMS Food Defense, etc.)* Produce and distribute HACCP / Food Safety / Laboratory / Production reports as requested by management* Confer with HACCP Coordinators on Food Safety issues* All other relevant tasks as needed Job Requirements : Bachelor of Science degree in Poultry, Animal, Food Science or other closely related field* 3 years supervisory experience within QA and / or food processing environment* Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Strong communication and interpersonal (people) skills* Proficient computer, math and analytical skills* Excellent organizational skills Physical / Environmental Factors : Repetitive hand motions, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs* Stand and walk on concrete majority of shift* Frequently stoop, kneel, crawl, twist, bend and lift various weights* Occasionally climb ladders, steep inclines, and enter confined spaces* Exposure to cold, humid environment with temperatures ranging from 40 to 90 degrees* Exposure to noise levels greater than 85 decibels* Exposure to strong odors, including ammonia* Exposure to slippery and wet conditions Benefits (after approximately 30 days of employment) : Promotional Career Opportunities* Health, Dental & Vision Insurance* Voluntary Life & Disability Insurance* 401k Savings Plan (after 1 year of employment)* Paid Weekly* Paid Time Off* Employee Purchase Program* Cobra Insurance Cost Reimbursement Other : This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by an employee occupying this position.
