Description
Phillips-Medisize, a Molex Company, is seeking a Director of Manufacturing Technology to lead the technical strategy development, standardization and people development for injection molding, tooling and automation as well as direct line leadership of tool build operations globally for the Medical Pharma Solutions division.
What You Will Do In the role
- Provide direction and leadership to the Principal Engineering, Automation Systems, and Tool Build teams regarding: standards development, continuous improvement, and training; surge support to project teams, technical assessment and management of approved supplier lists, tool build strategies, automation build strategies, automation build profit and loss management, and tool build profit and loss management. This includes performance management, career development, compensation actions, and staffing actions.
- Support the Principal Process Engineer in leading Process Council initiatives around the global injection molding process development standardization and related business processes including: press selection, process development methodologies, process transfer, and training
- Support the Principal Automation Engineer in leading Automation Council initiatives around the global automation standardization and related business processes including: cost estimating, equipment specification, vetting of automation vendors for technical capability/fit, assembly process development, the management of integrators during the machine build process, and scalable automation technologies.
- Support the Principal Tooling Engineer in leading Tooling Council initiatives around the global tooling standardization and related business processes including: mold standards, mold technology, mold quoting, vetting of tooling vendors for technical capability/fit, and the management of strategic tooling initiatives.
- Manage the global company-wide tool build strategy, planning, operations profit and loss performance, and capex deployment
- Manage the global company-wide automation build strategy, planning, operations profit and loss performance, and capex deployment
- Coordinate the global Manufacturing Technology Roadmap, prioritization of the Technology roadmap, and development of internal project proposals to implement high priority roadmap items related to manufacturing technology standardization and development.
- Collaborate with training resources to establish engineering technical development plans, including establishment of training/development standards for technical engineering disciplines, selection of relevant curriculum, and selection of training sources
- Extended travel to other facilities may be required to support business needs

Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline
- Minimum ten (10) years professional experience
- Experience leading an engineering project management team
- Broad knowledge of medical device and drug delivery system molding, assembly, and quality requirements
