The Molex Corporate Development and Strategy team is seeking a Director of Corporate Strategy to join our team. The Strategy team is responsible for collaborating with Molex leadership to set the organization’s strategic priorities and supporting Molex’s teams through execution. They are focused on assessing new market opportunities, identifying the key spaces where Molex should compete, defining the capabilities needed for Molex to succeed, and driving flawless execution against the vision. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

The Director of Corporate Strategy will work collaboratively with our corporate and divisional leadership teams to develop and execute the strategy, vision, and roadmap for the Medical and Pharma Solutions (MPS) division. This role is based out of Molex’s Chicago (IL), Lisle (IL), or Minneapolis-metro offices. You will lead strategic projects and initiatives across the MPS organization. You will successfully define potential organic and inorganic growth vectors, develop workplans, execute primary and secondary research, assess existing and potential new market spaces, and interface with key business leaders to organize Molex’s response to critical strategic opportunities. You will be responsible for creating partnerships and driving collaboration with Molex business leaders and evaluating potential external partnership opportunities to drive strategic decisions and execution against strategic plans.

In particular, this may include:

· Strategy Development & Execution: partner with the MPS global leadership team to develop, refine, and set the division-wide strategic priorities and develop action plans, milestones, tracking mechanisms to drive execution and implementation

o Outline problem statements, develop research plan, execute analysis to support strategic direction for MPS’s Business Units, and Segments

o Support and manage the annual strategic planning cycle, including plan build and authorship, process management, cross-functional engagement

o Actively support key implementation activities and support execution against strategic priorities and plans

· New market assessments: define, conduct analyses to assess the attractiveness of existing, adjacent, and white-space markets, as well as potential inorganic opportunities within those markets

o Plan, oversee, and support execution of primary and secondary market research

o Leverage existing databases, work across the organization to understand internal expertise, conduct subject matter expert interviews to gain insight into market dynamics

o Develop fact-based, economically driven, ‘outside-in’ perspectives on potential new market spaces, update and refresh points of view on existing market segments

o Monitor and evaluate key market trends, dynamics, value chain participants and translate into actionable insights for Molex leadership

o Attend trade shows, industry conferences and interface with industry experts

o Define implications and outline action plans for MPS

· Support Execution of Molex’s Medical Inorganic Agenda: support lead generation, initial screening, target outreach, and evaluation

o Partner with Molex Corporate M&A team on pipeline building / cultivation, evaluation, engagement planning

o Support commercial diligence activities, including asset evaluation, synergy definition, and MPS business leadership team buy-in and engagement

o Provide support, engagement, and leadership for post-acquisition and post-merger integration activities

· Executive Interaction: interface with and serve as a trusted strategic advisor and thought partner across the MPS global leadership team. The ability to build alliances both within MPS and across the broader Molex organization to influence and shape MPS’s market-driven decision process will be important to the success of this Director

    The Experience You Will Bring

    Requirements:

    · A minimum of two years of post-MBA (or equivalent) professional experience, ideally with a top-tier strategic consulting firm or corporate strategy / corporate development team for a pharmaceutical, medtech, or medical diagnostics company

    · Prior experience in and a passion for pharma, medtech, and / or medical diagnostics markets and deep understanding of the regulatory and customer landscape

    · Structured and logical thinking with an ability to identify core business problems and demonstrate a ‘nose for value’ to discern what is most critical and important

    · Analytical rigor and proven capability managing quantitative portfolio growth analysis; experience with financial modeling is a plus

    · Powerful written communication skills and a proven ability to succinctly articulate key elements of complex topics in written form

    · Strong verbal communication and experience expressing and defending a point of view (with data) in front of c-suite executives

    · Proven track record as an individual contributor driving market landscape assessments, strategy-making skills, as well as a positive agent for change and execution
