Description
Flint Hills Resources Pine Bend Oil Refinery in Rosemount, Minnesota is now hiring a LDAR Technician to join the team! As an LDAR Technician, you will be part of the reliability team, which ensures that the refinery equipment runs safely, efficiently, and quality repairs are made in a timely manner. In this role you will perform leak detection and repair (LDAR) to various equipment in the refinery such as valves, PSVs, check valves, piping, flanges, and other process equipment.
What You Will Do In Your Role
The successful candidate will have a desire to contribute to a team setting, have a willingness and interest in learning and utilizing new technologies, and proficient utilizing computer-based tools and mobile applications to access information about plant equipment and job tasks. Work is performed in both shop areas and outside in all types of weather.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair)
- Coordinate LDAR field activities with LDAR contract technicians.
- Repair leaking components.
- Generate work requests and follow-up on maintenance repairs.
- Maintain record keeping on monitoring and repairs.
- Maintain identification of LDAR components and applicability reviews.
Competitive Pay and Benefits Package:
- Starting hourly wage is $42.20 per hour with pay increases after training requirements are completed. When fully trained and qualified pay increases to $50.35 per hour.
- The normal work schedule is: 4/10’s Monday through Thursday with the potential for both scheduled and forcibly unscheduled overtime, with the potential to work up to 14 consecutive shifts.

The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- Must have ONE of the following:
- Refinery operations experience
- Refinery LDAR program experience
- Must have a valid Driver's License
What Will Put You Ahead
- Previous experience in a refining, process, energy, or industrial manufacturing industry
- Knowledge and understanding around Environmental air compliance
- LDAR (Method 21) monitoring and calibration experience
Physical Requirements of the Role:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (with frequent carrying of up to 25 pounds)
- Physical ability to frequently stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, reach, handle, bend, twist, climb (~200 ft) and balance.
- Ability to climb tower ladders 100 ft. , ascending/descending stairs up to ten flights or more.
- Ability & willingness to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (for example: hard hat, safety glasses, fire retardant clothing, respirator, safety work boots, etc. as required)
- Must be able to adequately hear alarms and other sounds which may indicate a safety concern.
- Must be able to communicate hazardous conditions and other dangers.
- Must be able to work near moving mechanical parts, work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and outdoor weather conditions, work in high, precarious places and work around fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
