Job Summary

Combine product and process knowledge, strong communication skills, and technical expertise to analyze,design, develop, and deliver effective content for end users, service and support, and knowledge bases for various audiences worldwide.

Required Skills

  • Excellent computer skills; proficient using Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft office 365,familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal)
  • Excellent organization skills with attention to details
  • Resourceful, strategic problem-solver
  • Flexibility—works well under pressure

Job Duties

Analyze and plan

  • Collect information about the product / subject
  • Analyze product requirements to determine types of content / documents needed
  • Assess and understand the project purpose, scope, and scale
  • Perform audience, needs, and task analyses
  • Establish schedules and cost estimates
  • Develop a plan based on the above items
  • Make independent decisions about deliverables
  • Interface with translation service providers to have content translated (utilizing portals and ftp sites)

Research Product and Usage

  • Research and gather input, and develop product expertise by reviewing resource and reference material (e.g., requirements documents, specifications, etc) and using the product
  • Ask probing questions of subject matter experts to obtain necessary facts and details

Design, Develop, and Deliver

  • Develop and deliver documentation / content that is complete, readable, usable, concise, and effective
  • Develop outlines and organize input—assemble ideas and translate technical language or jargon into content that is understandable and appropriate for the audience
  • Plan and coordinate the use of illustrations, diagrams, tables, and charts
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts
  • Adhere to company and industry standards, branding, trademark usage, legal requirements, and format and style guidelines to ensure accuracy, consistency, and high quality
  • Create new and revise / maintain existing content by applying rules of grammar and composition, content-creation standards, and writing for localization techniques
  • Validate, review, and revise content
  • Ensure audience focus
  • Manage the editorial and technical review processes
  • Work independently

Project Management

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of multiple projects
  • Define, track, and deliver to schedules
  • Monitor and deliver within budget

Manage Business Requirements

  • Ensure content management—archive, version-control
  • Develop and maintain organizational processes and content-creation standards
  • Generate and analyze usage reports for knowledge bases and implement changes (as needed)
  • Establish and maintain internal and external business relationships

Qualifications & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of relevant experience required
