Role Overview
Kodak is looking for a Quality Technician to join our Film Finishing team. This position will be part of Finishing’s Quality organization within our Advanced Materials and Chemicals Division in Rochester, NY. In this position you will be part of a team working in a great environment with a bright future. As a Quality Technician you will be trained in film finishing processes and will work independently with quality related activities. Candidates must have the ability to communicate effectively using a variety of mediums.
As a Quality Technician you will:
- Be the primary interface with operations for all quality related issues
- Use documented guidelines to make quality decisions and escalate to appropriate personnel
- Investigate quality problems to find the source and root cause
- Lead Quality Guards and other problem-solving meetings
- Write and implement temporary process changes
- Write and manage quality incident reports
- Monitor the use of standard work processes and assist production areas with implementation
- Investigate customer complaints
- Initiate product recalls
- Manage customer product returns
- Manufacturing leader for special product requests and initiation of new products
- Candidates should expect some amount of shift work.
Required Skills and Experience:
- The quality tech must be able to work alone or with a small team.
- Must demonstrate effective analytical troubleshooting
- Ability to identify quality problems and effectively communicate them with others as needed
- Able to interact with other personnel in the film flow such as the quality engineer, skilled trades, operations, and management
- Able to record data and analyze
- Must be able to work in the dark, if necessary
- The quality tech will frequently be multi-tasking and must be very organized
- Must have competence with computers and multiple computer applications
Additional Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Familiarity with ISO 9000 or other certification processes is a plus
- Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Six sigma black belt, green belt or similar training is a plus
