About this Role
We’re looking for a Coding Editor to award ownership in our company. Don’t miss your chance to invest in your own success!
Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and/or assistance in claims edit monitoring and resolution.
- Identify instances of improper billing and coding including duplication of charges, incorrect procedure billing such as under coding, up coding, wrong CPT or ICD code, or wrong number of units.
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes that impact clients to reduce compliance risk for improper billing, as well as accurately identify revenue opportunity for new CPT or HCPCS codes, changes in payment rates or other considerations.
- Analyze denials as directed by client leadership.
- Work collaboratively with coding team to improve client outcomes.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Health Information Management or equivalent
- 1 years of professional coding experience
- CPC, CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CCS by AHIMA or AAPC coding credentials
- Must have familiarity of medical necessity edits & missing occurrence edits
Additional Skills & Abilities:
- Working knowledge of CPT & ICD coding systems
- Knowledge of legal, regulatory, and policy compliance issues related to medical coding and documentation
- Ability to use independent judgment to manage and impart confidential information
- Advanced knowledge of medical coding, electronic medical record systems, and coding systems
- Ability to analyze and solve problems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of current and developing issues and trends in medical coding diagnosis and procedure code assignment
