What will this position do?
The Cost Accountant plays a vital role within the accounting function and is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory-related transactions and reporting, which helps to support the business in making informed decisions to drive profitability. Additionally, the Cost Accountant will ensure the timely completion of month-end closing tasks. Reporting to the Associate Manager, Cost Accounting, this role is integral to our financial operations.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate closely with manufacturers and our internal operations team to review and invoice purchase orders
- Assist with annual and new innovation costing uploads to ERP system
- Contribute to the monthly close process, including statement reconciliations and accruals.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly inventory reconciliations for third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
- Support annual audits by providing information and responses to auditors
- Contribute to assigned projects related to the inventory function.
- Pull and analyze ad hoc reports as required
What are we looking for?
Required:
- Accounting degree
- 2 years experience in cost and/or inventory management.
- Demonstrated high level of personal accountability.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to excel in a rapidly growing organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Preferred:
- Experience with NetSuite.
- Previous experience in cost accounting.
