What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Engineer - CI position at Kohler Energy?
Location: Mosel, WI
Opportunity
As a Kohler Operating System (KOS) team member, you will assist with leading Kohler Power Systems (KPS) processes improvement initiatives through the utilization of the Kohler Operating System and other Lean tools. Activities will include leading and facilitating improvement teams, conducting lean training, and driving implementation of action plans focused on achieving operational excellence in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost and morale.
Skills/Requirements
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the deployment of lean transformation matrix for Kohler Energy.
Identify opportunities and coordinate resources to implement projects required to achieve annual cost reduction objectives.
Execute process improvement initiatives: analyze current situation, understand desired state and performance gaps, understand root causes and propose solutions, test and execute solutions, monitor results and sustain.
Assist in the training of KPS associates with implementation of the Kohler Operating System including continuous improvement tools and philosophies (5S, Standard Work, 6σ, A3, Tier Structure, Layered Audits, Gemba Walks, etc.).
Develop and document standard methodologies to solve problems and find root causes; create/update improvement programs and training materials as needed. Lead Kaizen events to execute strategies.
Assist on projects throught KPS, working along side of manufacturing engineers assigned to the area. Provide support and guidelines for the implementation of projects.
Provide guidance and assistance to CI hourly workforce, maintaining workload and required resources for completion of projects.
Manage and grow CI blue card program for KPS and drive accountability to complete the tasks.
Deploy strategies on the shop floor to improve employee engagement and morale while obtaining results in safety, productivity and cost.
Education And Experience Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
Experience working with manufacturing processes
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills .
