Litigation Paralegal

Immediate full-time opening supporting a very busy litigation team in our downtown Cincinnati office. We offer a collegial environment, competitive salary, and excellent benefits.

Job Responsibilities include:

• Conduct factual research—obtain investigative materials including preparation of subpoenas and FOIA requests, when necessary
• Conduct background investigation of parties and witnesses
• Interview witnesses
• Request, organize and summarize, and analyze records (medical, billing, employment, education, etc.)
• Oversee collection, organization, and maintenance of exhibits, documents, and evidence
• Prepare summaries of factual findings, legal research and/or sequential and chronological events for attorney
• Drafting of correspondence, agreements, routine pleadings, and other legal documents under the supervision of an attorney
• Manage and coordinate trial dates and litigation deadlines
• Communication and interaction with clients, counsel, court personnel, witnesses, experts, and vendors
• Assist with all aspects of trial preparation
• Support multiple attorneys

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years litigation experience (insurance defense preferred)
• Experience tracking billable time and meeting billable hour requirements
• Ability to anticipate attorney/case needs
• Knowledge of state and federal rules of civil procedure, particularly for Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana
• Excellent computer and organizational skills
• Must be extremely detail-oriented
• Superior oral and written skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a very busy practice and work independently
• Everlaw or similar e-discovery platform experience a plus
• Maintain confidential firm and client information
